About BharatRajya

What is this?

BharatRajya is an interactive historical atlas of the Indian subcontinent. Explore the rise and fall of kingdoms and empires from 600 BCE to 1857 CE. Slide through time to see borders change, tap any kingdom to learn its story.

Data & Methodology

Territory boundaries are approximate reconstructions based on historical scholarship, inscriptions, travelogues, and archaeological evidence. Border lines are simplified for visual clarity and should not be taken as precise cartography. The timeline covers major polities with available geospatial data.
